As it was time to ride again, and I needed to make some arrangements with the Nufenens for our Easter trip, I decided to fly to Spain again.  But what would we be doing all weekend?  Yes… Riding!

I gave all planning out of hands to Javi & Marta for that weekend and in the end I ended up in Euskadi (Spanish Bask Country), in the area called Araba (Alava).

Very hard weekend with very little sleep: 2h flight to Spain (late afternoon, 2h drive to Marta’s parents, about 5h drive to Araba, 4h sleep.  All day riding on Saturday, sleeping out on Sunday, 5h drive to Marta’s parents, 2h+ drive to the airport (Sunday night), 3h sleep for € 80 in an airport hotel (better than the car), 2h flight, 2h drive home, taking shower and going to work again.  Yes, this all happened from Friday afternoon until Monday morning…

The track on Saturday was very nice and in some places rather hard (mud & ruts).  The 650 GS I got from Javi touched bottom more than once and in the end the injection got dirty so I had to keep open the throttle in order not to stall it every 5 seconds.

Pictures can be seen here.

Once again I want to thank Javi and Marta for this excellent weekend (good friends, nice track, nice food, …)
